Kengo Kuma was born in 1954. He founded Kengo Kuma & Associates in 1990. Nowadays he's an University Professor and Emeritus Professor at the University of Tokyo, after having taught at the University of Keio and the University of Tokyo. The KKAA projects are currently ongoing in more than 40 countries. Kengo Kuma is one of the most important architects in the world where he proposes architecture that opens new relationships between nature, technology and human beings. His main publications include Zen Shigoto (Kengo Kuma - the complete works, Daiwa Shobo), Ten Sen Men ("point, line, plane", Iwanami Shoten), Makeru Kenchiku (Architecture of Defeat, Iwanami Shoten), Shizen na Kenchiku (Natural Architecture, Iwanami Shinsho), Chii-sana Kenchiku (Small Architecture, Iwanami Shinsho), among others.

MVRDV was founded in 1993 by Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries. Tatiana Bilbao’s eponymous architecture studio is an internationally acclaimed practice known for integrating social values, collaboration, and sensitive design approaches to architectural work.

Prior to founding her firm, Bilbao was an Advisor in the Ministry of Development and Housing of the Government of the Federal District of Mexico City, during this period she was part of the General Development Directorate of the Advisory Council for Urban Development in the City. Bilbao holds a recurring teaching position at Yale University School of Architecture and has taught at many universities around the world.
